My Sunday Morning Uniform, Perfected
This is my go-to spring brunch outfit list. I’ve worn some version of these to probably sixty brunches and I’m not exaggerating. A spring brunch outfit needs to work in three conditions: sitting for two hours, surprise patio sun, and your friend photographing you holding a mimosa. These 15 handle all three.
The Dresses That Were Made for a Patio Table
1. Floral Midi Wrap Dress — & Other Stories
Around $89 at & Other Stories. The wrap silhouette is forgiving after pancakes, the midi length looks polished at the table, and the small-scale floral photographs beautifully without competing with your food. I have this in sage floral and I’ve gotten more compliments at casual brunch than I have dressed up for dinner. The only complaint: the tie belt loosens as you eat. I double-knot it now.
2. Linen A-Line Mini — Reformation

About $148 at Reformation. Butter yellow linen that looks expensive in morning light. The structured A-line skirt means you don’t have to think about how you’re sitting. Pair with flat sandals and you’re done in under two minutes.
3. Smocked Cotton Midi — Amazon

Under $35. The smocked bodice stretches, which is genuinely useful at brunch. It comes in about fifteen colors and the dusty rose one specifically gets stopped on the street. Runs true to size. The cotton wrinkles a bit — I stopped caring.
4. Lace-Trim Slip Dress + Denim Jacket

Any slip dress you already own (Abercrombie has one for about $60) with a denim jacket. The delicate-meets-casual contrast works. Also the easiest outfit when you’re running late.
For When You Want Pants at Brunch
5. Wide-Leg Linen Pants + Fitted Ribbed Tank

My actual most-worn spring brunch outfit. Abercrombie Sloane wide-leg in cream linen (around $90) with a ribbed tank in white or sage. Wide bottom, fitted top, done. I wore this to Mother’s Day brunch last year and my mom asked for the link. That’s the highest compliment in my family.
6. Barrel-Leg Jeans + Linen Blouse

Citizens of Humanity barrel-leg jeans (about $228 at Nordstrom) with a white linen button-down, front tucked loosely. The barrel silhouette is the 2026 denim trend that looks good sitting down. Gold hoops and flat mules.
7. Midi Skirt + Ribbed Knit Top

A printed midi skirt (Zara has solid options for $40–50) with a plain ribbed top in a coordinating solid color. It reads put-together without any effort. The midi length keeps you covered on patio chairs.
8. Tailored Shorts + Oversized Blazer

Abercrombie tailored shorts (around $50) with a linen blazer you already own. This only works when it’s genuinely warm though. I made the mistake of wearing this when it was 65 and I was freezing by the second round of drinks.
The Shoes and Layers That Make Brunch Work
9. Woven Leather Flats — Madewell

Around $98 at Madewell. The woven texture makes a simple outfit look intentional. They’re comfortable enough for the walk to the restaurant AND sitting for two hours. My most-reached-for brunch shoe.
10. Canvas Espadrille Wedges — Soludos

About $75. Height without the absurdity of heels before noon. Actually walkable. Works with every dress and pant on this list.
11. White Leather Sneakers — Veja

Around $130. For the casual brunch. Pair with wide-leg linen or a midi dress — the sneaker-and-dress combo is all over Pinterest right now.
12. Cropped Cotton Cardigan — & Other Stories

About $59. The patio-to-indoor transition piece. I keep one in my bag because the sun disappears behind a cloud and suddenly you need sleeves.
Small Pieces That Make the Brunch Photo
13. Straw Crossbody Bag — Madewell

Around $68. The bag that says “I’m having a beautiful spring day” without trying. Fits your phone, keys, card, lip balm. That’s all you need at brunch.
14. Tortoiseshell Cat-Eye Sunglasses

$15–30 from Amazon or Anthropologie. The single accessory that makes every brunch photo better. Tortoiseshell specifically works with every spring color palette.
15. Simple Gold Chain Necklace

A dainty layered gold chain (Mejuri or Amazon dupes for $15–25) fills in a neckline without overdoing it. The “I didn’t try but somehow everything goes together” piece.
What Spring Brunch Taught Me About Getting Dressed
Pastels and soft neutrals photograph better in daylight. Cream, sage, dusty rose, butter yellow — your spring brunch colors.
Wrinkle-resistant fabrics matter when sitting for two hours. Anything with stretch looks better by the time the check comes.
Sunglasses on top of your head is an outfit. A simple dress with sunglasses pushed into your hair photographs like you hired a stylist.
Go Reserve That Patio Table
If I’m picking one outfit, it’s the linen pants with a ribbed tank and Madewell woven flats. But the & Other Stories wrap dress is the one that gets the texts.
Save this to your spring brunch Pinterest board, send it to whoever you’re meeting this weekend, and tell me in the comments what your go-to brunch look is. Subscribe so you don’t miss the next seasonal roundup.
